The Anita Moore Exhibit

The Outsider by Anita Moore

Welcome to the Anita Moore Exhibit, a study in the macabre done in pencil and color. I found Anita through a listing in the Cthulhu Webring Newsletter and have been lucky enough to get her to post an exhibit here. As you can see, her work lends reality to the world of the unreal, and horror to the lands of sanity.

About the artist:

Anita is a self trained artist. The majority of her study has been over the shoulders of other artists, and anyone she could corner to tell her anything about technique and theory. While she has always drawn, doodled, even dabbled in oils for a six week community library class, it was only a year ago that Anita began to painting seriously with intent to publicly display the art. When Anita began to paint, she began with what was the most familiar to her—HPL. Anita has enjoyed his works for many years.

She is also a ten year veteran of the role-playing game based on Lovecraft's work. "Painting the metal miniatures proved to be excellent long term study of the proposed and alien anatomy of these lovely beasties. And where they fail to meet my own interpretations, the hypothesis of form is always handy to have for reference." Anita paints lots of different things and has won awards for science fiction paintings at local conventions, but her first love is the Cthulhu Mythos. Anita always finds her way back 'round to it.
